Express Entry

Your Pathway to Permanent Residence in Canada

At the beginning of January 2015 Immigration Canada implemented an electronic system to select skilled professionals called Express Entry.

Express Entry is divided into three main categories:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP),
  • Canadian Experience Class (CEC),
  • Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).
STEP 1

Express Entry Pool Profile Creation

Applicants will have to fill out the forms their information like, work experience, age, education, etc. No supporting document is needed for step one. However, not filling the form properly may result in your application being disqualified. If your profile is accepted then it will be in the Express Entry pool for a period of 1 year. This is where SwiftWalk immigration comes in to make sure that, all the forms are filled accurately in order to avoid any problems, like minor errors or omissions which can be considered as misrepresentation.

STEP 2

Permanent Residence Application

Immigration Canada will select the most qualified profiles using a point system and other factors such as, occupations in demand on average once or twice a month. If you are qualified you shall be invited to apply for permanent resident and, you will have just 60 days to submit your Permanent Residence Application online. This is when all supporting documents must be submitted and they must be in line with the forms that you submitted in Step1. According to Immigration Canada, once they have received your complete application they will process it within 6 months.
